McLaren Mercedes team principal Ron Dennis is to step down as boss of the F1 team to concentrate on McLaren's other interests – including McLaren Automotive, which is planning a range of new top-end sports cars. CAR Online has led the world with its scoops on the new McLaren P11, a British alternative to the Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

No new cars for Fiat at Paris, so the spotlight fell on environmental initiatives. A five-times life-size white Fiat 500 presided over a stand occupied entirely by pearl white 500s, Bravos, Sedicis, Cromas and Qubos. These cars were set on a Simpsons sky-like floor of blue and white over which the usual high quality of Fiat ladies strolled.
2012 Mercedes A-Class AMG caught on video in Germany
We had the very impressive-looking Mercedes A-Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show back in April, and the less than impressive-looking new Mercedes A-Class patent drawings a while later. And now we have the first spy video of the range-topping 2012 Mercedes A-Class AMG caught blatting round Stuttgart. We had high hopes for the new A-Class – which will arrive sometime in 2012 – when we saw what Mercedes had done with the A Concept, but that turned to disappointment when the more prosaic patent drawings appeared.
